The Garden District is one of the most beautiful and majestic neighborhoods in New Orleans. Originally developed with just a couple of homes per block with large surrounding gardens (hence the name), the area has since been sprinkled in with smaller Victorian homes and is mostly recognized for its delectable architecture. It is considered one of the best-preserved collections of antique homes in the South. Home to many historical landmarks, including individual homes, the Lafayette Cemetery, and Commander's Palace (yum!), tourists and locals are sure to say this neighborhood is a favorite.
